Sounds of Fall
Since I missed my September monthly music round-ups, here’s a big list of what I’ve been listening to for the past two months:
The National – Sleep Well Beast
The National excels at the type of melancholy music that’s perfect for fall.
Being as an Ocean – Waiting for Morning to Come
The new Being as an Ocean album has taken their post-hardcore/metalcore sound to the next level, with the addition of samples, electronics and some really creative production.
Tusks – Dissolve
This will probably end up being my album of the year – check out my review here.
Cold Specks – Fool’s Paradise
Really loving her voice and the indie/R&B sound.
Pvris – All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell
I’ve been a fan of Pvris for a while and this album came out months ago but for some reason I hadn’t listened to it until recently.
Thousand Below – The Love You Let Too Close
Saw these guys open for Silent Planet recently and was sold right away – their sound reminds me of all the best parts of the early 2000s post-hardcore heyday.
August Burns Red – Phantom Anthem
These guys somehow keep getting better and better with each album.
