2018: The Year Everything Changed

2018: The Year Everything Changed

CategoriesLife

One of the most amazing things about smartphone technology is that we always have a camera at our side ready to capture any event we deem worthy. With a simple click of a button we can save a moment to look back on and remember forever. But how often do you actually look back?

Social apps give us the ability to share our proudest moments for the world to see, but most of our photo’s – and memories – just wind up taking up space on our phones.

This exercise gave me a reason to go back and relive those moments I valued enough to hold on to photographic evidence. What I found was that I had plenty of photos still to share, and a lot more memories made than I would have told you off the top of my head.

From Sporting events to the birth of my first child, 2018 will always be a year I look back on fondly.

Here are my top moments/experiences of 2018:

January 2018
January: Toronto Blue Jays Winterfest Event.
Febuary 2018
February: Roadtrip to Collingwood for some craft beer!
March 2018
March: Finished building a change table for my soon to be born daughter.
April 2018
April: Designed/decorated my daughters nursery, including this fun polkadot accent wall.
May 2018
May: Toronto Blue Jays game.
June 2018
June: The birth of my daughter, Arya Claire Calverley.
July 2018
July: Family time catching some rays.
August 2018
August: Got back into woodworking, staring some new projects.
September 2018
September: Built a stand for my woodpile.
October 2018
October: Day trip to get some exercise and explore the great outdoors.
November 2018
November: First Canadian snowfall.
December 2018
December: UFC 231 fight in Toronto.

That’s my list! 12 memories that I captured on my phone over the past year. Some photos were better than others, but all represent a time that I wanted to keep with me.

Now its your turn to take a look back through your camera roll and share your best memory of the past year in the comment section below!
